Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Marked collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Marked (the website at trymarked.com and the app at app.trymarked.com, plus the iPhone and Android apps once available) is operated by Caponero LLC (“we”, “us”).

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information: your name and email address [and any sign-in provider used, e.g. Apple or Google, if offered].
  • People and pets you add: names, birthdays, anniversaries and other dates, and notes or gift ideas you save on their profiles. This can include information about other people, so please only add what they’d be comfortable with.
  • Wishlists: the items you add to My Lists.
  • Secret Santa: the rooms you create or join, your wishlist and the shipping address you add to a room.
  • Calendars: shared family calendars and company calendars you create or join, including company events and the birthdays, work anniversaries and (optional) birth years in them.
  • Messages to us: what you send when you contact support.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: such as device type, browser, IP address, pages and features used, and crash or error logs.
  • Analytics: our website uses Google Analytics to understand how people use it (for example, which buttons are clicked). [Confirm cookie/consent approach and whether the app also uses analytics]

3. How we use information

  • To run Marked: show your people, dates, lists and calendars; run Secret Santa draws; show reminders.
  • To show your Secret Santa match the wishlist and shipping address they need. [Confirm exactly who can see a participant’s address]
  • To share calendars with the people you choose, and company calendars with that company’s members.
  • To keep Marked secure, fix bugs and improve the product.
  • To respond when you contact us, and to send important service messages.

4. Who we share it with

  • Other Marked users, as you direct: for example, members of a Secret Santa room, people you share a calendar with, or your company calendar’s organizers and employees.
  • Service providers who host and run Marked for us (such as hosting, database, email delivery and analytics providers), under contracts that limit their use of the data. [List processors]

  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your data as described on our account deletion page, except where we must keep some records for legal or security reasons. [Retention periods]

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, such as encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure. [Confirm security measures]

7. Your choices and rights

  • View and edit your information in the app.
  • Delete your account in the app under Profile > Delete account, or by emailing us (see Delete your account).
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support@trymarked.com.

8. Children

Marked is for people 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
